Elderberries are a powerhouse when it comes to boosting/strengthening our immune health through the winter months. We lean on this blend daily through the fall/winter and cold/flu season. In this Syrup making kit, elderberries are paired with some powerful immune-boosting, lymph-loving botanicals like Calendula, Reishi mushroom, Chaga, Juniper Berries, Cinnamon, Ginger, and locally wild-harvested Usnea lichen and wild Rosehips.

INGREDIENTS:

ORIGINAL BLEND:

  • Elderberries, dried*

  • Reishi mushroom, dried*

  • Calendula (locally grown)*

  • Ginger root, dried*

  • Usnea (wild-foraged)^

  • Rosehips (wild-foraged)^ OR spruce tips (wild-foraged)^

  • Echinacea leaf (locally grown)* OR lemon balm *locally grown)*

  • Cinnamon sticks*

  • Cloves*

WOODLAND BLEND:

  • Elderberries*,

  • Juniper berries*,

  • Ginger root pieces*, 

  • Orange peel*, 

  • Chaga mushrooms*,

  • Spruce Tips^

  • Star Anise*

INSTRUCTIONS:

MEDIUM/LARGE KIT: Makes 2L of syrup, TRIAL/SMALL KIT makes 1L of syrup.

To make: Use entire pouch contents per batch. Pour in the entire pouch of ingredients into a pot and cover it with the amount of filtered clean water mentioned on the pouch. Simmer for 45 min. and cool for a couple of hours. Then, strain through a fine weave mesh strainer and/or with cheesecloth. Measure out your liquid (should be approx. 4-5c) for the original kit size and 2-3c for the trial size. Then, add honey to a pot in a 1:1 ratio with the measured elderberry liquid. Gently warm on the stove to dissolve the honey. Let cool. Then, pour the liquid into glass jars or bottles and keep in the fridge. It will last 6-12 months.

Ingredients you will need in addition to the pouch are: Raw honey (2-4c).

Suggested usage for adults is 1 tbsp. up to 3x/day and for children (over the age of 1), 1 tsp. 3x/day.
